4/11/08: 2 days left to IMAZ

Photos from Yesterday
All the crap required for an Ironman:

More junk:
We were able to close the hatch. Good sign!
It only took 3 trips from the car to unload everything:
Tempe light post decorations:
Welcome to Ironman!

Most people hug the puffy M-dot. I figured this set the tone for my race:

Standing in line for packet pick-up. I scored a USAT flag though:

Getting tagged and hearing the schpeal:

Forking over more money to NA Sports (for Zac's dinner ticket):

At the inspiration station...Zac getting inspired:

He likes to use a straight-edge:

Zac's poster completed. He was pretty proud of it:

I went with the team Tucson Tri Girls theme:

A close-up of Zac's poster:

What holds Tempe Town Lake together. That's one giant inflatable!

How many rental trucks does it take to run an Ironman? (Answer: lots)

This is from the run course on Priest Ave. It's a long way back to the Ironman village!

M-dot on the run course sidewalk:

From the opposite side of the lake, looking at the Ironman village:

Empty bike racks. In a few days this area will be full of bikes:

Overhead view of the Ironman village. The large tent to the left is the change tent where you can change clothing in between swim-to-bike and bike-to-run:

Zac practicing his trials move on the area next to the run course:

After these pics we saw the sign, "No skateboards or bikes". Oops!

Part of the swim course.

Connect the dots. The turnaround is just past the Rural Ave bridge.

OH SO COOL! I enjoyed these pictures. Maybe I will give this race some thought for 2010.
